Ingredients:

  • 5 eggs (or as many as you want);
  • 30-50 g of red onion husks;
  • 2 tbsp. l. vinegar;
  • 1 tbsp. l. solution of diamond green (pharmacy green);
  • a sheet of blank paper;
  • gauze fabric;
  • thread or 5 stationery rubber bands;
  • 1 tbsp. l. oil;
  • cotton swab or paper towel.

Step 1. Cut about 30-50 g of onion peel into small flakes with scissors. Cut a sheet of paper in the same way. Mix the peel and paper in one bowl – as a result, you should get a kind of “confetti”.
Step 2. Immediately prepare square pieces of gauze in which you will wrap the eggs.
Step 3. Soak the eggs in clean water and roll them in pieces of husk and paper. Wrap each egg tightly in cheesecloth and secure the edges of the cloth with thread or rubber bands. This cheesecloth package should help the flakes of husk and paper stay on the shell.
Step 4. Place the eggs wrapped in cheesecloth in a saucepan, fill it with cold water so that it completely covers them. Add 1 tbsp. of greens to the water and put the saucepan on the fire.
Step 5. Once the water boils, boil the eggs for 10 minutes, then remove the pan from the heat and let cool completely.
Step 6. When the water in the pan has cooled, remove the eggs, remove the cheesecloth and shells. Carefully wipe the eggs dry and, if desired, wipe them with oil for shine.
