A U.S.-based startup named BrainBridge has unveiled a project aimed at creating a fully automated platform for performing human head transplants. According to the company’s representatives, such a procedure could become possible within the next ten years through the integration of advanced robotic technologies and artificial intelligence, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.

The startup’s engineers are developing a solution that merges cutting-edge advancements in neuroscience, surgery, and bioengineering. The initiative involves the creation of a robotic surgical system capable of precisely and continuously connecting the spinal cord, blood vessels, trachea, esophagus, and other vital anatomical structures. This would enable the complete integration of a head onto a new body.

BrainBridge has released a concept video illustrating the sequence of actions performed by the robotic system. The process involves the simultaneous detachment of the donor’s and recipient’s heads, followed by the relocation and connection of all critical anatomical elements. The system will also incorporate artificial intelligence to process visual data in real time, ensuring maximum precision during the operation.

The company emphasizes that the primary goal of the project is to assist patients suffering from terminal cancer, paralysis, and other severe medical conditions.
