John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne, the legendary British rock musician, died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death came just weeks after reuniting with Black Sabbath for a farewell concert, marking the final gift to their devoted fans, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Sky News.

In an official statement, Osbourne’s family confirmed that he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. “With a sadness beyond words, we must announce that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and enveloped in love,” the statement read.

Osbourne rose to fame as the frontman of Black Sabbath, a band widely regarded as one of the founders of the heavy metal genre. He later enjoyed a highly successful solo career, delivering hits such as Iron Man, Paranoid, War Pigs, Crazy Train, and Changes.

Beyond his music career, Osbourne became a global pop culture icon through the reality television show The Osbournes, which aired in the 2000s. The show offered a glimpse into his chaotic family life in Los Angeles alongside his wife Sharon, daughter Kelly, and son Jack.

Known for his eccentric persona, Osbourne built a reputation around his unpredictable and controversial behavior. One of the most infamous moments in his career occurred when he bit the head off a bat during a live concert — a stunt that became part of rock legend.

In recent years, Osbourne battled Parkinson’s disease. His health significantly declined following a serious fall in 2019, which greatly impacted his ability to perform live.
