The fashion world is mourning a profound loss — at the age of 91, Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, the founder of the iconic Armani fashion house, has passed away. The news of his death was announced by the Armani company on its official Instagram account, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Instagram.
According to the brand’s representatives, Giorgio Armani died on September 4 surrounded by his closest family. In the company’s statement, he was described as “Mr. Armani,” a figure of deep admiration and respect for colleagues and employees alike.
The Armani Group emphasized that the designer remained tirelessly dedicated to his work until his final days, investing his energy in new collections and overseeing a variety of ongoing projects within the fashion house.
A public farewell ceremony will take place in Milan on September 6 and 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The funeral itself will be private and held for close family and friends only.
