The second part of season two of the hit series “Wednesday” has premiered. Among the key highlights of the new episodes was the long-anticipated appearance of global superstar Lady Gaga, who joined the cast of the show, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Mirror.
This is not the first time the artist has showcased her acting talent. She has previously starred in projects such as “American Horror Story”, “A Star Is Born” and “Joker: Folie à Deux”. Now, she has brought her unique style and energy into the Addams family universe. Netflix kept fans in suspense for months by withholding details about Gaga’s role, but the mystery has finally been unveiled.
In the new episodes, Lady Gaga portrays Rosaline Rothwood, a legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy who has long been deceased. However, the main character Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, manages to bring her back to life. Seeking to restore her psychic powers, Wednesday visits Rothwood’s grave on academy grounds, touches the monument, recites an incantation, and summons the teacher’s spirit.
Gaga’s character exudes mystery and otherworldliness. In stark contrast to Wednesday’s dark aura, Rosaline appears dressed entirely in white — a pale wig, flowing dress, and tall boots. Although Gaga’s screen time is brief, appearing only for a few minutes in one episode, her contribution goes beyond acting. She also recorded the soundtrack The Dead Dance, which premiered simultaneously with the release of the new episodes.
Season two of “Wednesday” debuted in early August and quickly secured a spot in Netflix’s Top 10 most popular shows. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the new season has earned 84% positive reviews from both audiences and critics, compared to 73% for the first season.
