Inter Miami announced the signing of Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez .
According to the official website of the American club, a contract has been signed with 36-year-old Suarez for the next MLS 2024 season.
At Inter Miami, the Uruguayan was reunited with his former teammates from his time playing for the Catalan Barcelona – Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who moved to the United States in the summer of 2023.
In addition, Ukrainian defender Sergei Krivtsov plays for the club, owned by ex-England footballer David Beckham.
“I am optimistic about what we can achieve together, with shared ambitions. I will give everything to bring joy to these amazing fans that I have heard so much about. I look forward to being reunited with great friends and players,” Suarez commented on his move to the Miamians.
Luiz's last club was the Brazilian Gremio, for which he played since January 2023. The Uruguayan forward managed to play 33 matches, scored 17 goals and gave 11 assists. Suarez's high performance helped his team take second place at the end of the season, and the forward himself became the top scorer and was recognized as the best player in the Brazilian championship.
