The French became the winners of the show race in Gelsenkirchen.
On Thursday, December 28, the traditional annual Christmas biathlon race took place in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
This year, Ukraine was represented by the duet of Yulia Jima and Dmitry Pidruchny.
The Christmas race consisted of two parts of a mixed relay – mass start and pursuit. The winners were determined based on the results of the pursuit.
The Ukrainians finished the mass start in fourth place. France came first, Germany second, Norway third.
In the pursuit, the blue-yellows lost one position and ended up finishing the Christmas race fifth.
The representatives of France, Julia Simon and Fabien Claude, won the Christmas race. Norwegians Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold and Sturla Lægreid came second. The top 3 were completed by Slovenians Polona Klemencic and Jakov Fak.

Let us add that Ukraine took part in the Christmas race for the sixteenth time, winning twice. In 2008, Andrei Derisemla and Oksana Khvostenko succeeded in this, and in 2014, Sergei Semenov and Valentina Semerenko. The “blue-yellows” climbed to the podium six times.
Last year, Ukraine was represented in the Christmas race by Yulia Jima and Anton Dudchenko. As a result, our team finished eighth .
