Yulia Kurchenko and Elizaveta Litvinenko became medalists in the weight category up to 78 kg.
The Ukrainian national teamin judo won two medals on the last day of the international tournament of the Grand Slam series, which took place in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
In the weight category up to 78 kg Yulia Kurchenko won silver, and Elizaveta Litvinenko became a bronze medalist.
Note that the Ukrainian judokas met each other at the quarterfinal stage, where Kurchenko triumphed.
After that, Kurchenko defeated the German Anna Monta Olek in the semifinals, but in the final she was defeated by Goucher Stenghuis from the Netherlands.
In turn, Litvinenko, after losing to her compatriot, continued fighting in repechage bouts. There she defeated the representative of Kosovo, Loriana Kuku, after which she defeated the Slovenian Matka Lobnik in the fight for bronze.
For Kurchenko, this is the second award in her career at Grand Slam level competitions. Last year she won bronze in Tbilisi, Georgia. For Litvinenko, this is the first medal in his career at Grand Slam tournaments.
Thus, the Ukrainian team completed the competition in Baku with three medals. Previously, Daria Bilodid wonbronze in the weight category up to 57 kg.
