For Ukrainian women, this will be the eighth joint final at WTA level competitions.
Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmila and Nadezhda Kichenok reached the doubles final of the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston, America.
In the semi-finals, the sisters defeated the first seeds Nicole Melichar ( USA) and Ellen Perez (Australia).
The match lasted 2 hours 15 minutes and ended in the triumph of the Ukrainians with a score of 7:6, 6:7, 13:11.
Note that in the quarterfinals, the Kichenok sisters beat Americans Madison Keys and Taylor Townsend – 3:6, 6:1, 10:8.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will play together in the final at the WTA level for the eighth time and try to win their fifth title. This will be their first WTA tournament final on clay.
In the final, the Kichenok sisters will meet the winners of the second semi-final: Americans Ashlyn Kruger and Sloane Stephens or Japanese Eri Hozumi and Makoto Ninomiya.
