Evgeniy decided to hang up his boots at the age of 34.
Former midfielder of the Ukrainian national team Evgeniy Konoplyanka announced his retirement as a football player.
The 34-year-old player announced this on his Instagram page.
“Football for me is more than just a game, more than just a sport or a competition. It is a big part of me as a person, as a person and as a professional. I love this game very much and appreciate every moment that I had to experience while on the football field.
But today I must inform you that I have decided to end my professional career. Therefore, thanks to everyone who walked this path with me, to everyone who shared with me the joy of victories and the sadness of defeats, to everyone who followed me and supported me on and off the field,” wrote Konoplyanka.

During his career, Evgeniy played for Dnepr, Sevilla, Schalke, Shakhtar, Cracovia and CFR. At the beginning of January 2024, he prematurely terminated his contract with the Romanian club.
During his professional career, Konoplyanka played 427 matches at the club level, scoring 74 goals and 61 assists.
As part of Dnepr, he became the silver and bronze medalist of the Ukrainian Championship and the finalist of the Europa League. Together with Sevilla he won the Europa League, with Schalke – silver medals in the Bundesliga, with Shakhtar – gold and silver UPL awards.
He also has 87 matches for the Ukrainian national team, in which he scored 21 goals and 15 assists.
Konoplyanka is third in the list of top scorers in the history of the national team. According to this indicator, only Andrey Shevchenko (48) and Andrey Yarmolenko (46) are ahead of him.
