The Ukrainian national football teamwill take part in the 2025 World Youth Championship (U-20).
The Blue-Yellows won a ticket to the global championship thanks to their successful performances at Euro 2024 (U-19). Dmitry Mikhailenko's team won a strong-willed victory in the final round of the group stageover Italy (3:2). The Ukrainians with 5 points took second place in Group A and reached the semi-finals.
Euro 2024 (U-19) is also a UEFA qualification for the 2025 World Cup (U-20). The right to play at the World Cup will be given to the five best teams of the European Championship – all semi-finalists and the winner of the match between the teams that took third place in their groups.
Thus, the Ukrainian team, as a semi-finalist of the continental championship, qualified for the 2025 World Cup (U-20), which will take place in Chile. The exact dates of the tournament will be announced later.
Review of the match Ukraine U-19 – Italy U-19
The Blue-Yellows have qualified for the Youth Football World Cup for the fifth time in history. At four previous tournaments, the Ukrainian team invariably reached the playoffs: they stopped in the 1/8 finals three times (2001, 2005, 2015), and in 2019 became the winner of the tournament.
