The Ukrainian was losing 5:11, but managed to turn the tide of the medal fight.
On Monday, July 29, Ukrainian sabre fencer Olga Harlan won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In the fight for the “bronze” of the individual championship in sabre, the 33-year-old Ukrainian defeated the South Korean Choi Sebin with a score of 15:14.
The match was not in Harlan's favor. She lost the first period with a score of 3:8, and in the second she was behind 5:11, but she showed character and ultimately won a strong-willed victory.
This is the first medal for Ukraine at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the fifth Olympic award in Kharlan's career.

The 2024 Olympics are the fifth in Kharlan's career. At the previous Olympic Games, she won four medals. Olga became the 2008 Olympic champion and the 2016 Olympic silver medalist in the team tournament, and also won bronze medals in the individual championship at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
Recall that the Games in Paris will last until August 11. Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports.
