Ruslan Rotan's team has stopped competing in the Olympic tournament.
The Ukrainian national team lost to the Argentina team in the final, third round match of the group stage of the 2024 Olympics football tournament. The match at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais stadium in Lyon ended with a score of 0:2.
The first half of the match passed without goals. At the start of the second half of the confrontation, the “albiceleste” took the lead – in the 47th minute, Thiago Almada from outside the penalty area hit the corner to the right of him with a powerful and accurate shot.
At the end of the match, Javier Mascherano's charges scored the second goal – in stoppage time, in the 90+1st minute, Claudio Echeverri, who replaced Julian Alvarez in the 79th minute, played well on the rebound.
In a parallel match of this group, the Moroccan team defeated the Iraqi team with a score of 3:0.
Thus, Argentina and Morocco, who scored 6 points each, advanced to the playoffs from Quartet B. Ukraine and Iraq finished their performances at the Olympics with 3 points each.

Note that at the 2024 Games, Ukraine was represented in the Olympic football tournament for the first time in history.
Before the decisive match against Argentina, Ruslan Rotan's team in in the opening round it lost to Iraq (1:2), and then in the second round it won a minority victory over Morocco (2:1).
Men's football The 2024 Olympic Games tournament will last until August 9 in seven cities of France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Nice and Nantes.
According to the regulations, players who were born will take part in the Olympic football tournament after January 1, 2001. Each team was allowed to enter only three performers over this age.
