Daria stopped in the 1/8 finals at the 2024 Olympics.
Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid commented on her early elimination at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The 23-year-old Kiev resident dramatically lost to the silver medalist of the last world championship, Japanese Haruka Funakuba, in the 1/8 finals. During the extra time of the fight, Daria earned a third shido and was disqualified.
“Everything can fall apart in a second, everything. Pain, disappointment, an unfulfilled dream. I am infinitely grateful to our people for their incredible support. I am shocked by how many people supported me in difficult times.
It is priceless when people are with you not only when you are on the podium, but also in moments of despair. You are incredible. You give me strength and faith in the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Bilodid wrote on her Instagram page.
