Olga became a bronze medalist in the individual saber.
On Monday, July 29, Ukraine won its first medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. “Bronze” in the personal saber was won Olga Kharlan.
In the bronze medal match against South Korean Choi Sebin, our athlete made a magnificent comeback and won a strong-willed victory (15:14), losing during the bout with a score of 5:11.
The Olympic gold in this discipline was won by Frenchwoman Manon Apiti-Brunet, and the silver medalist was another host of the competition, Sarah Balzer, to whom Harlan lost in the semi-finals.

The “bronze” in Paris is Harlan's fifth Olympic award. She repeated Ukraine's record for medals won at the Olympics.
Kharlan is also the only Ukrainian athlete in history to have won medals at four Olympics – in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2024.
The 2024 Olympics are the fifth in Kharlan's career. Before winning the bronze in Paris, she became the 2008 Olympic champion and the 2016 Olympic silver medalist in the team tournament, and also won bronze medals in the individual championship at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
We remind you that the Games in Paris will last until August 11. Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports.
