Ukrainian athlete Mikhail Kokhan won a bronze medal in hammer throw at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In the final, the 23-year-old Ukrainian showed a result of 79.39 meters. This is the first Olympic award in Mikhail's career.
“Gold” in the hammer throw was won by Ethan Katzberg from Canada (84.12 meters), and the silver medalist was Hungarian Bence Galas (79.97 meters).
Let's add that in the qualification, Kokhan showed a result of 77.42 meters in his second attempt, meeting the required standard to advance to the final.
The Olympics in Paris are the second in Kokhan's career. At the 2020 Games in Tokyo, he stopped one step short of the podium, taking fourth place with a result of 80.39 meters.
Now Ukraine has six medals at the 2024 Olympics: two gold, one silver and three bronze.
It should be noted that Ukraine won three of the six awards on August 4, all in athletics. In addition to Kokhan's bronze in the hammer throw, the “blue-yellows” won two medals in the high jump: Yaroslava Maguchikh won gold, and Irina Gerashchenko became the bronze medalist.
Earlier, Olga Kharlan won bronze in individual sabre, and together with Elena Kravatskaya, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastova, she won gold in the team. In addition, Serhiy Kulish won silver in shooting.
Another award, at least silver, was guaranteed for Ukraine by Oleksandr Khyzhnyak, who reached the final of the boxing tournament in the weight category up to 80 kg.
Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
