Yaroslava summed up the results of the competition season.
Olympic high jump champion Yaroslava Maguchikh addressed her fans after the successful completion of the 2024 season.
On September 13, the 22-year-old athlete from Dnipro won gold in the 2024 Diamond League final.
On her social networks, Maguchikh once again thanked the Ukrainian military, who continue to protect our country from Russian occupiers. The athlete also expressed hope that the next season will be no less successful for her.
“I have completed the 2024 competition season. This year has become a lifelong story not only for me, but also for my country. Now we hold the world record and the Olympic gold in high jump.
I want to thank my entire team and fans for their constant support and faith. And the military for protecting our country. And I would like to say – if it were not for you, there would be no Ukraine, no anthem, no flag, no medals. We are doing a good deed, winning awards. And you are doing a great deed, achieving victory.
I believe that the 2025 season will be no less interesting, but before that I still have enough time to rest and surprise you again,” wrote Maguchikh.

This year, Maguchikh became an Olympic champion for the first time, having won gold at the 2024 Games in Paris. This is her second Olympic medal in her career; in Tokyo 2020, the Ukrainian won bronze.
In the 2024 season, Yaroslava won all the stages of the Diamond League in which she participated. She also won gold at the European Championships and silver at the World Indoor Championships.
In early July of this year, Maguchikh broke the world record in women's high jump. At the Diamond League stage in Paris, the Ukrainian was the first in history to clear a height of 2.10 meters. Yaroslava surpassed the achievement of Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who jumped 2.09 meters at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.
Recall that Maguchikh actively helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After winning the Olympic gold, she donated 500 thousand hryvnia to the charity organization “Patronage Service of Angels of Azov”, and then donated a million hryvnia to Igor Lachenkov's collection. Yaroslava also donated a million hryvnia to animal rights activists.
