The final match with the Belgians will not have tournament significance for Yuriy Moroz's team.
The Ukrainian U-17 national football team has advanced to the second round of the Euro 2025 qualifiers ahead of schedule.
This happened after Belgium beat Kosovo (2:1) in the match of the Ukrainian team's opponents in the second round.
The Ukrainian team scored the maximum possible 6 points in two rounds: made a comeback and defeated Kosovo (4:2), after which won a crushing victory over Kazakhstan (3:0).
Before the final round, Ukraine and Belgium have 6 points each, Kosovo and Kazakhstan – none.
Thus, Yuriy Moroz's team will definitely not finish lower than second place in the group, which is necessary to reach the second round of the Euro 2025 qualification.
So the last round match with the Belgians, which is scheduled for October 15 in Genk, will not have tournament significance for the Ukrainians.
The second round of qualification for the continental championship will start in the spring of 2025. 28 teams will take part in it. The winners of the seven groups will join hosts Albania in the final tournament, which will be held later that summer.
