Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team ousted "Alexandria" from the top of the Ukrainian championship standings.
Dynamo defeated Obolon in the match of the 10th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Obolon Arena in Kyiv ended with a score of 1:5.
Even before the break, the “white-blues” scored three times. Nikolai Shaparenko opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Then Vladislav Vanat scored a double, converting a penalty in the 21st minute, and eight minutes later scoring from play.
At the start of the second half, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's charges sent the fourth ball into the Obolon goal – Oleksandr Karavayev scored in the 49th minute.
Three minutes later, the “brewers” reduced the gap in the score – Dynamo defender Taras Mihavko cut the ball into his own goal after a pass from Viktor Bliznichenko.
In the 73rd minute, Dynamo regained their four-goal lead – Vladimir Brazhko shot into the far corner from the area in front of the penalty area. The score on the scoreboard did not change any more.
Obolon – Dynamo match review
Thanks to this victory, Dynamo (25 points) returned to first place in the UPL. Shovkovskiy's team moved Oleksandriya off the first line, which they are now 2 points ahead of. “Obolon” (5 points) is in the penultimate, 15th position.
Dynamo's next match will be played on Thursday, October 24, against Italian “Roma” of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk in the 3rd round of the main round of the Europa League. After that, the “white-blues” will host “Shakhtar” in a UPL match on Sunday, October 27.
“Obolon” will play its next match on Saturday, October 26, away against “Karpaty” in the 11th round of the Ukrainian championship.
