"White-blues" and "miners" failed to determine the winner in the combat Classic.
Kiev Dynamo and Donetsk Shakhtar played a draw in the central match of the 11th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the capital's Valeriy Lobanovsky stadium ended with a score of 1:1.
The first half of the match passed without goals and was remembered for the injury of the “white-blue” defender Denis Popov, who pulled the back of his thigh and was forced to leave the field in the 16th minute. He was replaced by Christian Bilovar.
At the start of the second half, the “miners” took the lead. After a corner kick by Georgy Sudakov in the 48th minute, Eginaldo headed the ball – the goalkeeper of the Kiev team Georgy Bushchan made a save, but Artem Bondarenko finished the ball into the goal from a few meters, which also hit Valery Bondar on its way.
In the 60th minute, the Donetsk team was left in the minority – Dmitry Kryskiv received a direct red card for a rough tackle from behind in the center of the field, which he made into Bilovar's feet.
Having gained a numerical advantage, Alexander Shovkovskiy's charges attacked with large forces in the hope of saving themselves from defeat. And Marino Pusic's team retreated to defense and tried to hold on to the winning result, but failed to do so.
In the 87th minute, Oleksandr Karavayev scored a volley at the far post after Vladislav Dubinchak's pass from the left flank, bringing Dynamo a draw.
