“Iron Mike” landed 181 fewer punches than his opponent.
Detailed punch statistics have been released in the fight between former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and popular blogger Jake Paul.
The fight lasted 8 rounds of two minutes each and ended with the victory of the 27-year-old showman over the 58-year-old boxing legend by unanimous decision of the judges – 80:72, 79:73, 79:73.
During the entire fight, “Iron Mike” landed 181 fewer punches than his opponent – 97 against 278. Only 18 of Tyson's punches were accurate (18.6%), while Paul's hit 78 punches (28.1%).
Of 179 jabs thrown, Jake landed 31 (17.3%), Mike landed 5 of 62 (8.1%). Paul landed 47 of 99 power punches (47.5%), and Tyson landed 13 of 35 (37.1%).

Note that this fight had official status – the result was included in the statistics of both fighters.
Let's add that initially Tyson and Paul were supposed to meet in the ring on July 20, but due to the deterioration of “Iron Mike's” health, the fight was postponed.
For Tyson, this was the first official fight since 2005, when he lost by technical knockout to Irishman Kevin McBride. Now “Iron Mike” has 59 fights on his record: 50 wins (44 by knockout) and 7 losses. Two more fights were declared no contest.
Paul has 11 wins (7 by knockout) and one loss.
