The Spanish specialist is not going to leave the English club yet.
Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has extended his contract with the club.
According to the official website of the “citizens”, the new agreement of the 53-year-old Spaniard is calculated until 2027. His previous contract with the English club expired at the end of this season.
Guardiola took over at Manchester City in 2016. Under his leadership, the “sky-blues” won 18 trophies: 6 English championships, 2 Cups, 4 League Cups and 3 Super Cups of the country, and also won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup once each.
Pep himself has already commented on the extension of his contract with the “citizens”.
“I really have special feelings for Manchester City. That's why I'm so happy to stay for two more seasons. Thank you all for continuing to trust and support me.
I hope that now we can add more trophies to those we have already won,” journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano quotes Guardiola as saying.
Let's add that Manchester City currently ranks second in the Premier League, with 23 points after 11 rounds. The team is 5 points behind the leader Liverpool.
In their next match, Guardiola's men will host Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, November 23.
