Ukraine finished the single mixed relay in the top 10.
On Saturday, November 30, the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup season started with the single mixed relay at the stage in Kontiolahti, Finland.
The Ukrainian team in this race was represented by Olena Gorodnaya and Artem Tishchenko. As a result, the “blue-yellows” finished in ninth position.
In the first stage, Gorodnaya worked perfectly in the prone position and left the firing line in fourth position. In the standing position, Elena used two additional rounds on the last target and dropped to tenth place.
In the second stage, Tishchenko shot flawlessly in the prone position, thanks to which he rose to ninth position. In the standing shooting, the Ukrainian used one additional round and passed the baton to tenth place.
In the third stage, Gorodnaya shot flawlessly in the prone position and left the shooting range in 9th place. In the standing position, Elena used two additional rounds and kept the 9th position.
In the final fourth stage, Tishchenko shot cleanly in the prone position, leaving the shooting range in 10th place. In the final standing shooting, Artem did not miss a single shot and finished the race in 9th place, winning a photo finish against the US team.
Sweden won the single mixed relay. France came in second, beating Germany thanks to a photo finish.
