Kristina Dmitrenko showed the best result among the Ukrainians.
On Friday, December 13, the second stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria, began with the women's sprint race.
Ukraine was represented by five biathletes – Anna Krivonos, Elena Gorodnaya, Yulia Jima, Kristina Dmitrenko and Alexandra Merkushina.
The best result among the Ukrainians was shown by Dmitrenko, who finished in 18th place with perfect shooting. Dzhima (33rd position) and Merkushyna (51st place) also qualified for the pursuit race.
German Franziska Preuss won the victory. Frenchwoman Sophie Chauveau came in second, and Norwegian Caroline Knotten rounded out the top three.

The Hochfilzen stage program will continue today with the men's sprint, in which Ukraine will be represented by Anton Dudchenko, Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Bohdan Tsymbal and Vitaliy Mandzyn. The race starts at 15:20 Kyiv time.
