Kristina Dmitrenko demonstrated the best result among Ukrainians in the pursuit.
On Saturday, December 14, the women's pursuit race took place at the second stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria.
Ukraine was represented by three biathletes – Kristina Dmitrenko (18th starting position following the sprint), Yulia Dzhima (started 33rd) and Alexandra Merkushyna (started the race 51st).
The best result among the Ukrainians in the pursuit was shown by Dmitrenko, who finished 22nd with two misses. Dzhima, thanks to perfect shooting, made up eight positions compared to the sprint and took 25th place. Merkushyna finished 59th, earning five penalty laps.
The Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmono, who started fourth, won the pursuit race. She was joined on the podium by the Germans: Vanessa Voigt finished second, and Franziska Preuss, the winner of the sprint, came in third.

The program of the stage in Hochfilzen will continue today with the men's pursuit, in which Ukraine will be represented by Dmytro Pidruchnyi (will start 15th), Vitaliy Mandzyn (33rd starting position) and Anton Dudchenko (will start the race 39th). The start is at 15:45 Kyiv time.
