The London club has already launched an internal investigation.
Ukrainian midfielder of London's Chelsea Mykhailo Mudryk, who tested positive for doping, was temporarily suspended from football.
This was reported by The Times.
The source claims that the 23-year-old Ukrainian was temporarily suspended from football after receiving a message about his positive doping test from the English Football Association (FA).
It is noted that Mudryk denies intentionally using a banned substance. In August, he took a doping test, which was negative. However, the next test was already positive.
Mikhail insists he has not changed his routine since the August test. He believes the banned substance may have entered his system abroad, as the substance found is not available in the UK.
Chelsea have launched an internal investigation and are supporting the player, who is cooperating fully with the club.
According to FA rules, a player can be informed of the result of a doping test and then suspended. He is given the opportunity to explain before a decision is made on charges.
Recall that on the night of December 17, it became known that Mudrik had tested positive for doping. A prohibited substance was found in the footballer's “A” sample. The doping sample, which gave a positive result, was taken from Mudrik at the end of October.
It is expected that the “B” sample will also be opened in the coming days. After that, it will become clear whether Mudryk faces disqualification and, if so, for how long.
According to journalist and commentator Vladimir Zverov, the maximum punishment that Mudryk could face is a 4-year suspension.
This season, Mudryk has played 15 matches for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring three goals and making five assists.
The last time Mudryk was included in the Chelsea squad was on December 1 for the Premier League match against Aston Villa, which he spent on the bench. Since then, Mykhailo has been left out of his team's squad for four matches in a row. The head coach of the London club, Enzo Maresca, reported that the Ukrainian was ill.
