– What’s your next step? Someone mentioned retirement, you mentioned a cruiserweight. What are you going to do next?
– Listen. My next step is I want to take a break because today my wife sent me a video of my youngest daughter Maria saying, “Papi, papi” (addressing Usyk – ed.). 10.5 months (of her daughter – ed.).
I saw my youngest daughter for 2 months. Maximum 2 months, maybe even a month and a half, – Usyk said.
When asked about a possible fight with IBF title holder Daniel Dubois for the title of absolute world champion or a third fight with Fury, the Ukrainian did not give a clear answer.
“Now I want to go home, relax, turn off the phone. Lock myself in my house, sit like this and look at the sky, how the tree grows. Now I want to relax and not think about boxing, Dubois, Fury. Just relax. Just play with my children,” Usyk admitted.
At the same time, Alexander said that he does not intend to end his career yet, because he has not yet lost the desire to train and enter the ring.
“Yes, I still have a thirst for boxing and training, to please my team, my loved ones,” Usyk said.

Usyk now has 23 wins (14 by knockout) in 23 fights. He fought seven of them in the heavyweight division. Before that, Alexander became the absolute world champion in the cruiserweight (weight category up to 90.7 kg), having won all four of the most prestigious belts there.
Recall that thanks to the victory over Fury in the first fight, which took place on the night of May 19, 2024, Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century, having concentrated in his hands all four main boxing belts – WBO, WBA, IBF. and WBC.
However, then Alexander had to give up the IBF title, and therefore lose the title of “absolute”. Now the IBF belt is owned by Briton Daniel Dubois, who has already managed to defend it by knocking out his compatriot Anthony Joshua.
