 Biathlon: Results of the women's relay at the World Cup stage in Ruhpolding

The Ukrainian team took tenth place.

On Saturday, January 18, the fifth stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding, Germany, continued with the women's relay.

Ukraine was represented by Olena Gorodnaya, Yulia Dzhima, Iryna Petrenko and Kristina Dmitrenko. The “blue-yellows” finished in tenth position.

In the first stage, Gorodnaya performed her prone shooting cleanly and left the shooting range in sixth position. In the standing position, Elena was forced to use three additional rounds and dropped to 13th place, where she passed the baton.

In the second stage, Dzhima made one inaccurate shot in the prone shooting, remaining in 13th place. In the standing position, Yulia shot flawlessly, thanks to which she reached 12th position, but she passed the baton in 14th place.

In the third stage, Petrenko shot cleanly in the prone position, coming in 13th place. Irina worked on the standing position with one extra round and passed the baton in 13th place.

In the final stage, Dmitrenko missed one shot in the prone shooting, remaining in 13th place. Thanks to her accurate shooting in the standing position, Kristina pulled the Ukrainian team up to tenth place, where our team finished.

Germany won the relay. Norway came in second, and France rounded out the top three.

We note that the day before in Ruhpolding there was a men's relay, where the Ukrainian team took sixth place.

The stage in Ruhpolding will conclude on Sunday, January 19, with the men's and women's mass starts.

The next stage of the Biathlon World Cup will be held in Antholz-Anterselva (Italy) from January 23-26.
