On Thursday, January 23, the semi-final matches of the Australian Open 2025 in women's singles took place. Therefore, the finalists of the tournament have been determined.
The final of the first major this season will feature a neutral tennis player with a Belarusian passport, Arina Sabalenka, and an American, Madison Keys.
In the semifinals, Sabalenka beat Spaniard Paula Badosa – 6:4, 6:2. And Keys defeated Poland’s Iga Swiatek – 5:7, 6:1, 7:6.
The final match between Sabalenka and Keys will take place on Saturday, January 25.
For Sabalenka, this is a chance to win the Australian Open for the third time in a row after victories in 2023 and 2024. Keys will play in the final of an Australian major for the first time.
