Two Ukrainians finished in the scoring zone.
On Thursday, January 23, the sixth stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cupin Antholz, Italy, the women's sprint started.
Ukraine was represented by five biathletes: Kristina Dmitrenko, Yulia Dzhima, Elena Gorodnaya, Irina Petrenko and Anastasia Merkushyna.
Dzhima showed the best result among the Ukrainians in the sprint, closing the top 10 with perfect shooting. In addition to her, Dmitrenko also made it into the scoring zone, taking 24th place without a single miss on the shooting range.
A total of four Ukrainian biathletes qualified for the pursuit race. Gorodnaya and Petrenko will also compete there, finishing the sprint in 49th and 55th positions, respectively.
The race was won by Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonneau. German Selina Grotian came in second, and her compatriot Franziska Preuss finished third.
