The Londoners opened the scoring in the third minute of the match. Noni Madueke scored after a gross error by the newcomer of the “citizens” – Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
Before the break, Josep Guardiola's team got even – in the 42nd minute, Joško Guardiol scored.
In the second half, the “sky-blues” scored two more times and brought the matter to victory. Erling Haaland scored in the 68th minute, and Phil Foden set the final score in the 87th minute.
It should be noted that Ukrainian Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk, who tested positive for doping, remains temporarily suspended from football.
