American Madison Keys won the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career.
American tennis player Madison Keys became the winner of the Australian Open-2025 in women's singles.
In the final of the tournament, the 29-year-old representative of the USA (WTA No. 14) defeated neutral tennis player with Belarusian passport Aryna Sabalenka (WTA No. 1).
The match lasted 2 hours 4 minutes and ended with a score of 6:3, 2:6, 7:5.
Keys won the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career. Earlier, she lost in the final of the 2017 US Open.
Sabalenka, however, missed the chance to win the Australian Open for the third time in a row after winning in 2023 and 2024.
We add that the best result among Ukrainians at the 2025 Australian Open was shown by Elina Svitolina, who lost to Madison Keys in the quarterfinals.
