After fifth place in the sprint, the captain of the Ukrainian team performed poorly in the pursuit race.
On Sunday, January 26, the sixth stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup, which was held in Antholz, Italy, ended with the men's pursuit race.
Ukraine It was represented by two biathletes: Dmitry Pidruchny(5th starting position following the sprint) and Anton Dudchenko, who started the pursuit 36th.
The only Ukrainian to reach the finish line was Dudchenko – 14th position with error-free shooting. But Pidruchnyi earned four penalty laps and left the race early after the third shooting.
The winner of the pursuit race was the current leader of the overall World Cup standings, Norwegian Sturla Laegreid. Second place went to his compatriot Tarjei Bjo, and the top three was rounded out by Italian Tommaso Giacomel.

The World Cup stage in Antholz was the last one before the World and European Biathlon Championships. The continental championship will be held in Martel Val Martello (Italy) from January 29 to February 2, and the planetary forum will be held in Lenzerheide, Switzerland from February 12 to 23.
The next, seventh stage of the Biathlon World Cup is scheduled for March 6-9 in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).
