In the final of the tournament, the 23-year-old Italian (No. 1 ATP) defeated 27-year-old German Alexander Zverev (No. 2 ATP). The match lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes and ended with a score of 6:3, 7:6, 6:3.
Sinner won the Australian Open for the second time in a row. This is his third victory in Grand Slam tournaments. He also previously won the title at the 2024 US Open.
Zverev played in the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the third time in his career. He also previously lost the decisive matches at Roland Garros 2024 and the 2020 US Open.
