Pidruchnyi has qualified ahead of schedule for the mass start of the 2025 Biathlon World Championships

The captain of the Ukrainian national team is in the top 15 of the overall World Cup standings, thanks to which he has qualified ahead of schedule for the race.

Ukrainian biathlete Dmytro Pidruchnyi has qualified ahead of schedule for the mass start of the 2025 Biathlon World Championships, which will be held in Switzerland Lenzerheide.

After the sixth stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup, which ended the day before in Antholz, Italy, the 33-year-old captain of the Ukrainian team occupies 15th place in the overall individual World Cup standings.

According to the regulations, 30 biathletes will take part in the mass start at the World Championships: the top 15 athletes in the overall World Cup standings and the 15 best according to the results of the tournament.

Thus, Pidruchnyi automatically qualified for the mass start of the world championship, which will last from February 12 to 23.

Dmytro has qualified for the mass start of the Biathlon World Championships for the sixth time. His best result in this discipline at the World Championships is 10th place at the world championship in Ostersund, Sweden in 2019.

It should be noted that during his career, Pidruchnyi has won one medal at the Biathlon World Championships – in 2019, he won gold in the pursuit race in Ostersund. So far, this is the only gold award for the Ukrainian men's team at world championships.
