On Friday, January 31, the draw for the playoffs (1/16 finals) of the 2024/25 Europa League season took place in Nyon, Switzerland.
This is the debut draw of the second most prestigious European Cup in a new format: 36 clubs played in a single league, where they played against eight different opponents (four home and four away matches).
The eight best teams from the main stage of the Europa League reached the 1/8 finals: Lazio, Athletic Bilbao, Manchester United, Tottenham, Eintracht, Lyon, Olympiacos and Rangers.
The clubs that took 9th to 24th places in the overall standings will play paired play-off matches for a place in the 1/8 finals.
It should be noted that the Italian Roma of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk will fight for a ticket to the 1/8 finals with the Portuguese Porto.
