The Ukrainian team failed the final shooting and ended up in eighth place.
On Sunday, February 2, the 2025 European Biathlon Championships in Martel Val Martello, Italy, ended with the men's relay.
The Ukrainian team included Artem Tyshchenko, Vitalii Mandzyn, Anton Dudchenko and Taras Lesyuk. The “blue-yellows” finished in eighth place.
At the first stage, Tishchenko shot cleanly in the prone position and was in second place after the shooting range. Thanks to his flawless shooting in the standing position, Artem brought the Ukrainian team to first place, but he passed the baton in fourth place, 16.7 seconds behind the leader.
At the second stage, Mandzyn took second place after perfect shooting in the prone position. Vitaly completed the standing position with one extra round and left the shooting range in second place, and passed the baton in third place, 1:06.4 minutes behind the leader.
In the third stage, Dudchenko used two extra rounds at both shooting ranges and held on to the third position, and passed the baton to fourth, 2:22.2 minutes behind the leader, Norway, and only 20 seconds behind second place, France.
In the fourth stage, Lesyuk used three extra rounds in the prone shooting, narrowly avoiding a penalty loop, maintaining the fourth position. Taras failed to cope with the standing position, going into two penalty loops, from which he returned to the eighth position.
The Norwegian team won the men's relay. Germany won silver, and France took bronze.

It should be noted that today the continental biathlon championship also hosted a women's relay, in which the Ukrainian team finished in eighth place.
Thus, the Ukrainian team finished the 2025 European Biathlon Championships without medals.
The European Championships preceded the main start of the biathlon season – the World Championships, which will be held from February 12 to 23 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
The next, seventh stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup is scheduled for March 6-9 in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
