Kimi Raikkonen's Lotus E21 Sold at Auction

On February 4-5, RM Sotheby’s held an auction in Paris that mainly sold sports cars, but also included several Formula 1-related lots.

Among them was the Lotus E21, driven first by Kimi Raikkonen and then Romain Grosjean in the 2013 season. Kimi drove the E21-04 chassis at five rounds, including in Germany and Hungary, where he finished second.

Starting with the Singapore Grand Prix, the team handed over this car to his teammate. In Korea, Japan and India, Romain finished third, and in Austin he climbed to the second step of the podium. In total, both drivers earned 121 points behind the wheel of the E21-04. The new owner paid 325,625 euros for the car.

During the auction, the Williams FW20, behind the wheel of which Jacques Villeneuve drove three Grands Prix in the 1998 season and finished fourth at Imola, was sold. Later, the FW20-03 chassis was used for testing by Juan Pablo Montoya, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Alex Zanardi and Max Wilson. The FW20 sold for €218,500.

Other lots included Michael Schumacher's racing helmet from 1992 (sold for €36,000), Michael's racing suit from 2002 (sold for €48,000) and 2003 (sold for €62,400) euro) and Ayrton Senna's 1988 overalls (sold for 90,000 euros).
