An insider has confirmed the Saudi club's attempt to sign the Liverpool star.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Al Nasr have sent offers to Liverpool for Darwin Nunez. The latest was worth €75m with add-ons
Yes, the Saudi giants did try to make the transfer happen, making two offers; the second of which was in excess of €75m with add-ons, similar to the package included in the signing of Aston Villa's John Duran, Romano revealed.
The Saudi club held more than three talks.
“It wasn't just a casual approach or attempt; at one point, Al Nasr had made significant progress in talks with the Liverpool striker and they were confident they would get the player's approval before pushing for an agreement with Liverpool.” “This is a specific story, not just a regular phone call or a formal offer sent and rejected,” the insider said.
Liverpool refused to sell the player because there was no ready replacement and no time to look for an alternative.
Darwin Nunez has played in 32 matches for Liverpool this season. He has 6 goals and 5 assists. The player's contract with the club is valid until 2028.
