Ukrainian center Los Angeles Lakers Alexey Lencommented on his move to the team, and also assessed his debut match against Utah (119:131).
«The last few days have been crazy. I was on my way to Indiana when Rob [Pelinka] called me and changed my mind. So I came here. It feels incredible. I understand that being a Laker is a great opportunity for me. I couldn’t imagine anything else: playing for a team that is fighting for a championship… So when I first heard [about the Lakers’ interest], I said I’m coming here».
«Debut for the Lakers? I just tried to go out and play my best, I didn't know any plays at all. I was just put in the lineup, so I tried to play my best, count on simpler combinations».
In the match against Utah, the Ukrainian spent 22 minutes on the court, recording 4 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Since 2021, Alexey Len has defended the colors of Sacramento. This season, Alexey took part in 36 Kings games, averaging 1.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists.
During the trade deadline on February 6, the Ukrainian moved to Washington (Len previously played for the Wizards in the 2020/21 season). However, Washington did not plan to keep the 31-year-old center, and a few days later Len joined the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers are in 5th place in the Western Conference standings. Len's team will play its next match on February 20 at home against Charlotte.
