Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving is out with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The Mavericks star suffered an injury late in the first quarter of the game against Sacramento (98:122). Kyrie will not play for the rest of the current season.

Irving's injury is the latest in a series of losses for Dallas. Recall that center Anthony Davis suffered an adductor strain in his first game after joining the team from the Lakers. The Mavericks are also out of Derek Lively, Daniel Gafford, Caleb Martin and Jaden Hardy.

Irving has averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season and was named to the NBA All-Star Team for the ninth time in February.

Dallas is the 10th seed in the NBA's Western Conference. The Mavericks' next game is against Milwaukee on March 6.
