The “blue-yellows” won their first medal in three seasons at the Biathlon World Cup level.
On Sunday, March 9, the men's relay race took place on the last day of competition of the seventh stage of the 2024/25 Biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
Artem Tyshchenko , Vitaliy Mandzyn , Anton Dudchenko and Dmytro Pidruchnyy ran for the Ukrainian national team. The “blue-yellows” finished in third place.
At the starting stage, Tishchenko shot cleanly from the prone position and left the shooting range in seventh position. At the standing position, Artem used two additional rounds and remained in seventh place, and passed the baton to 9th, 1 minute 12.8 seconds behind the leader, the Norwegian team.
In the second stage, Mandzyn used two extra rounds in the prone shooting, dropping to 12th place. In the standing position, Vitaliy made one inaccurate shot and raised the Ukrainian team to 10th place. He passed the baton to 9th, 1 minute 26.9 seconds behind the leader, the Norwegian team.
In the third stage, Dudchenko shot flawlessly while lying down, coming in seventh. Thanks to his fast and accurate shooting while standing, he raised our team to fifth place, where he passed the baton.
At the final stage, Pidruchnyi used one extra round in prone shooting, leaving the shooting range in fifth place. At the standing position, Dmitry also missed once and left the shooting range in third position, where he finished.
The French team won the men's relay. Norway finished second, and Ukraine sensationally closed out the top three.
It should be noted that this is the first medal at the Biathlon World Cup level for Ukraine in three seasons. Before this, the last time the “blue-yellows” won the award was at the stage in Oberhof in the 2021/22 season, when Daria Blashko and Artem Tyshchenko won the bronze in the single mixed relay.

Today the stage in Nove Mesto will end with the women's relay, which will start at 17:45 Kyiv time. Kristina Dmitrenko, Yulia Dzhima, Elena Gorodnaya and Alexandra Merkushyna will run for the Ukrainian team.
The current biathlon World Cup season will end with stages in Pokljuka, Slovenia (March 13-16) and Holmenkollen, Norway (March 21-23).
