Denis Boyko published a touching farewell post on social networks.

Former goalkeeper of Dynamo Kyiv and the Ukrainian national team Denis Boyko announced the end of his playing career.

The 37-year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper posted a touching farewell post on social media.

“The End. I want to thank everyone without exception, whom I have met on my professional football path. My name and my career would not be possible without the people with whom I played, worked and communicated, starting from the age of 7 and up to this day. The trophies won, the joy of victories and the bitterness of defeats, competition, friendship, constant travel and visits to the base – all these things made me who I am today.

Sorry if I offended someone or if someone didn't like my behavior, these are just emotions, and I'm just a person who can make mistakes, like everyone else in our world.

Every day without exception I gave my all on the football field for the sake of the team and achieving results, so today I have the opportunity to finish my professional career with a clear conscience.

Football is my life. Thank you for your attention and see you soon. Forever your number 71, Denis Boyko or King Kong (whichever is more convenient),” Boyko wrote on his Instagram.

Boyko is a product of Dynamo. Denis played 108 matches in all tournaments as part of the Kyiv club. Together with the “white-blues” the goalkeeper became the champion of Ukraine once, twice the winner of the Cup and three times the Super Cup of the country.

Boyko also played for Dnipro, Turkish Besiktas, Spanish Malaga and Zhytomyr Poliesie. As part of Dnipro, he was a finalist in the 2014/15 Europa League, and with Besiktas he became the champion of Turkey in the 2015/16 season.

The last club in Denis's career was Poliesie. He played for the Zhytomyr club from the summer of 2023 until the end of last season.

Boyko also played 7 matches for the Ukrainian national team between 2014 and 2021.
