Yaroslava became a three-time European Indoor Athletics Champion.
Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the gold medal at the 2025 European Indoor Athletics Championships, which took place in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
In the final, the 23-year-old Ukrainian cleared 1.97 meters on her first attempt. She did not clear 1.99 meters on her first attempt, but did so on her second.
Serbian Angelina Topic (1.95 meters) won the silver medal at the continental championship. Sweden's Engla Nilsson (1.92 meters) won the bronze.
Thus, Yaroslava became a three-time European Indoor Athletics Champion.
Maguchikh won gold at the European Indoor Championships for the third time in a row. She also won gold at the previous two European Championships in 2021 and 2023.
Maguchikh became only the second athlete in history to win the European Indoor Championships three times in a row.
The first female athlete to achieve this feat was Rosemary Ackerman, who won the European High Jump Championships in 1974, 1975 and 1976.

Last season, Maguchikh won gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, won gold at the European Championships and silver at the World Indoor Championships, and also became the Diamond League champion, winning all the stages in which she took part.
In early July 2024, Maguchikh broke the world record in women's high jump. At the Diamond League stage in Paris, the Ukrainian was the first in history to clear a height of 2.10 meters. Yaroslava surpassed the achievement of Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who jumped 2.09 meters at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian high jumper Oleg Doroshchuk won gold at the 2025 European Indoor Athletics Championships.
