Text report of the first of two matches between the Ukrainians and the Belgians.
On Thursday, March 20, the Ukrainian national team will meet the Belgian team in the first match of the playoffs for the right to play in the elite division of the next Nations League .
Due to the war of conquest that Russia continues to wage against Ukraine, the match, nominally home for the “blue-yellows”, will take place at the Nueva Condomina stadium in Murcia, Spain. The starting whistle will sound at 21:45 Kyiv time.
Sergey Rebrov's team took second place in their Division B group. The “blue-yellows” (8 points) were worse than the Czech Republic (11), but beat Georgia (7) and Albania (7).
The Belgians finished third in their Division A group. The “Devils” (4 points) were behind France (13) and Italy (13), but finished ahead of Israel (4).
The return match between the teams on Sunday, March 23, will be hosted by the Belgian city of Genk. The game will start at 21:45 Kyiv time.
