Pascal Wehrlein makes his Le Mans debut

Former Formula 1 driver and reigning Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year – Porsche has announced him as the third driver for Porsche Penske Motorsport.

Wehrlein will team with former Formula 1 driver Felipe Nasr and endurance racing veteran Nick Tandy.

Pascal Wehrlein: “It was my dream to drive for Porsche Penske at Le Mans. I'm looking forward to this challenge, where, unlike Formula E, I'll have to share everything that I usually customise for myself: position, set-up, strategy and more.

Of course, I want to add big wins in other series to the Formula E title, but my main goal is to work for the team and learn a lot.”
