Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on the goalkeeper issue in the team regarding performances in the 2024/25 Spanish Cup .
“Will Lunin play in the Copa del Rey final? Yes, but that remains to be seen. Lunin can play, Courtois can play, and if they are injured, Fran González will play. And if we don't make it to the final, none of the three will play.”
Andriy Lunin was in the starting lineup for Real Madrid in the last round of the Primera Division match against Leganes (3:2). The Ukrainian replaced Thibaut Courtois, who missed the match due to muscle strain.
Lunin played his 11th match for Real in all tournaments of the current season against Leganes. The Ukrainian is also expected to be in the starting lineup in the return match of the 1/2 final of the Spanish Cup against Real Sociedad.
Let us recall that Carlo Ancelotti's team won the first semi-final match away from home against the Basques with a score of 1:0. The return match will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu tomorrow, April 1.
