Betis beat Sevilla in a strong-willed style in a home match of the 29th round of the Spanish Primera – 2:1.
Ruben Vargas put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute. Johnny Cardoso soon equalised, and just before the half-time whistle, Cucho Hernandez scored the second goal from an Isco pass.
Betis played smartly in the second half, not allowing their derby opponent to create anything significant at their goal.
Manuel Pellegrini's team won their sixth straight league title and are tied with Villarreal for 5th-6th place. Sevilla are 11 points behind and are in 11th place.
Both teams face tough tests in the next round, with Betis away to Barcelona and their neighbours hosting Atletico.
