Чемпионский поединок Фанияна, дебют Ловчинского, возможно, прощальное выступление Постола. Пять причин посмотреть вечер бокса в Киеве

Aram Faniyan, Nicholas Hara

On January 25, the Kyiv Sports Palace will host a large-scale boxing evening , the main fight of which will be the defense of the WBO Global title in the first welterweight by Aram Fanian against the Argentine Nicolas Jara . Also on this day , the former WBC champion in the first welterweight Viktor Postol will enter the ring. We tell you why you should watch the boxing evening with Fanian's championship fight .

Title fight in Ukraine

Aram Fanian won the WBO Global belt in the first welterweight division last August, adding it to the WBF title. The Brovary native also held a championship fight in Kyiv, defeating Mexican Juan Rodriguez ahead of schedule. Argentine Nicolas Jara (13-6, 6 KOs) seems like an easier opponent, although he won four out of five fights last year (!).

However, the very fact of a title fight in Kyiv, the third in a year, deserves respect. Especially after the World Boxing Council (WBC) cancelled the title fight between Ukrainian boxer Sergey Radchenko (11-7, 5 KOs) and WBC bridgerweight belt holder Kevin Lerena (30-3, 14 KOs). The South American simply refused to come to Ukraine.

Possibly Postol's farewell fight

Former WBC light welterweight champion Viktor Postol (31-5, 12 KOs) will fight in Ukraine for the first time in seven years. And he will step into the ring for the first time in the last year and a half. Postol had his last fight in July 2023, losing to Elvis Rodriguez.

The Ukrainian's current opponent is Argentine boxer Andres Tejada (13-4-2, 7 KOs). Considering that Postol is already 41, this fight may be the last in his professional career, which currently includes 31 fights.

Lovchinsky's pro debut

The heavyweight had an unsuccessful performance at the Olympics, losing in the first round to Australian Teremiano Junior. However, Lovchinsky is called one of the most promising fighters. And Vladimir Klitschko won't invite just anyone as a sparring partner.

Dmitry's opponent will be the experienced Pata Adaushvili (49 professional fights), so it will be interesting.

Good card

In addition to Fanian and Postol, Stanislav Skorokhod (21-3, 18 KOs), Alexander Ivkov (4-0-1, 2 KOs) and Taras Bondarchuk (3-0, 1 KO) will enter the ring on January 25. All three are bright boxers who are capable of putting on a spectacular fight. Skorokhod, for example, last went the full distance in 2018, losing on points to Aram Amirkhanyan.

Boxing fights of veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Traditionally, the boxing evening will be a charity event. The main goal is to collect 5 million hryvnia to help veterans undergoing rehabilitation, as well as to help charitable organizations in returning children illegally detained in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories.

In addition to professional boxers, on January 25, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers who defended the country from the occupiers will also have their fights. Unfortunately, they experienced serious health problems and are now undergoing rehabilitation in the modern Tytanovi Rehab center for recovery and strength.
