The Ukrainian did not perform very well in the return match against Real Sociedad

Real Madrid's management and coaching staff are discussing a goalkeeper change for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
Let us recall that in the previous rounds of the King's Cup, Ukrainian Andriy Lunin was in the starting lineup. However, the goalkeeper's not entirely successful performance in the return semi-final with Real Sociedad (4:4) forced Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez to think about the option with the main goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.
The Ukrainian's match against Sociedad was the 12th for the Madrid team this season in all tournaments (four clean sheets, 19 goals conceded). In the match, Lunin made seven saves, conceding four goals. Nevertheless, Real managed to snatch a draw in extra time, and thanks to a minimal victory in the first match (1:0), a ticket to the final.

As for Courtois, the experienced Belgian played 37 games for Blancos in the 2024/25 season. Thibaut kept 11 clean sheets, and the goalkeeper conceded 40 goals in total.
The Copa del Rey final will be held on April 26 in Seville. This will be the first encounter between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final since 2014, when the Blancos beat the Catalans thanks to a legendary goal from Gareth Bale – 2:1.
